Ethos, Vision and Values
"Let your light Shine" Matthew 5:16
At Upton Noble Church of England VC Primary School we aspire to be: "A nurturing community of aspirational learners who flourish and grow together; building wisdom, knowledge and skills within a Christian ethos.”
Jesus taught that we can be the light and encourages us to let our light shine for all to see, reflecting the light of God.
We believe that by working together, we can grow the very best version of Upton Noble Church of England Primary School and
Our light will shine
By celebrating and nurturing the talents of all individuals in a safe learning environment, we will be able to be the best version of ourselves, valuing our own self-worth and
Our light will shine
By creating a culture of respect, resilience, friendship, honesty, trust and love, both within the school and the wider community, we can ignite and inspire curiosity and creativity, and
Our light will shine
Together, we nurture and encourage each other to develop resilience and perseverance, motivation and self-confidence, to become lifelong learners and
Our lights will shine
By peeling back the layers of understanding we develop a greater wisdom of life; little by little, deeper and deeper and day by day,
Our lights will shine brighter
When all our lights shine together anything is possible.
Our Christian values are at the core of everything we do.
They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our visitors from Zambia spoke to each class about Zambian every day life and Goodson led some workshops and an assembly where we learnt about Zambian traditional tales and we sang some Zambian songs.
Maple Class went to the church for their leavers' retreat. They remembered and celebrated their time at Upton Noble, thought about their worries about going on to secondary school and talked about their hopes and dreams for the future.
Reverend Gill led a series of workshops to the whole school about 10 paintings depicting "Stations of the Resurrection".
Purple for Polio. The whole school dressed up in Purple and donated money to the Brue Valley Rotary Club for their work in their vaccination programme against Polio in other countries.
Children In Need
We spent some time talking about our school motto - Let your light shine - and how we can let our own lights shine.
We dress up in the colours of our Christian values
