Ash - Year 3
Welcome to Ash Class!
Welcome to the Ash Class page! Here you will find information, photographs and everything you need to know about the exciting things we get up to in year three.
Have a look at our Autumn term topic web to see what we will be up to this term!
This term our topic is ‘Digging Up the Past’ and we will be finding out lots about life in the Stone Age as well as reading Stig of the Dump as a whole class read. Have a look at our Topic web to give you an overview of the term.
*Homework will start in week 3 - (Thursday 24th September)*
Homework will be linked to either our topic work or will be practicing an area of the maths curriculum linked to our learning in class. It will be set on a Thursday and will be due on the following Thursday. It will be set on google classroom which your children will be able to access at home - and it can also be handed in here to minimise what is coming into school. You will receive further information on this. Spellings will be on Spelling Shed weekly and I will also put a copy of the spellings on the google classroom.
Reading will take place at school so it is recommended that children have a home book they can read at home. Again this is to reduce the items coming in and out of school.
PE will take place on Tuesdays 9-10.35 and Fridays and children will need to come in wearing PE kit. They will also have Mrs Pritchard teaching them French on a Tuesday.
If you need to contact me this term please use the class email: firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be happy to answer any questions or queries. The class webpage will be updated with photos so you can have an insight into what we are up to through the week.
Dance Workshop - Bring Books to Life - The Lorax
Our Trip to the Roman Baths
Making Roman Pottery!
Homework will be linked to either our topic work or will be practising an area of the maths curriculum linked to our learning in class. It will be set on a Thursday and will be due on the following Wednesday. Each child will have a homework folder. It is also expected that children will read at home, and regularly change their books in the morning. In year three children must take responsibility to change their own books and this is a part of key stage two, becoming more independent and responsible. Messages can be sent into school via the reading record, but please remind children to show an adult as they will not necessarily be checked everyday.
PE will take place on a Monday and will alternate between Wednesday and Thursday, so it would be great if kit could be in everyday. The children will have alternate weeks with a sports coach.
Please feel free to drop in if you have any questions or queries!
