Ash - Year 3
Welcome to Ash Class!
Welcome to the Ash Class page! Here you will find information, photographs and everything you need to know about the exciting things we get up to in year three.
Year 3 is a really fun year for your children and I am really excited to get started teaching lots of fun topics! This term our topic is ‘Digging Up the Past’ and for the first time I will be teaching a new topic on the Stone Age which I am very excited about! This will link in really well with our science topic ‘Rocks and Soils.’
Homework will be linked to either our topic work or will be practising an area of the maths curriculum linked to our learning in class. It will be set on a Thursday and will be due on the following Wednesday. Each child will have a homework folder. It is also expected that children will read at home, and regularly change their books in the morning. In year three children must take responsibility to change their own books and this is a part of key stage two, becoming more independent and responsible. Messages can be sent into school via the reading record, but please remind children to show an adult as they will not necessarily be checked everyday.
PE will take place on a Monday and will alternate between Wednesday and Thursday, so it would be great if kit could be in everyday. The children will have alternate weeks with a sports coach.
On Fridays we will be doing forest school so please make sure you have wellies and a waterproof coat, and obviously in the winter warmer layers would be great! This means we can go outside whatever the weather, all year round!
Please feel free to drop in if you have any questions or queries!
