Science

This half term, we have been diving deeper into topics such as 'day & night', how Earth has developed and the creation of Earth, as well as time zones and the life cycle of a star. Here are some videos of the children recreating the Big Bang using balloons and glitter - the balloon representing the sudden explosion, the glitter representing the matter created from explosion! We then looked at how sundials work, even creating our own 'simple' version.

English

Over the last few weeks, the children have been learning about rhyming couplet poetry! As a starter to every lesson, we have been building up a bank of rhyming words using different sounds. Sycamore Class have loved playing this game with their peers and trying to get as many obscure words to rhyme as possible.
