Student Leadership
Student Leadership
At Upton Noble, we believe in creating a culture where children are nurtured to develop leadership skills. We value the work of our Student Leaders and strive to give opportunities for children to become confident and articulate leaders who can share their views and represent their peers as well as being good role models to those around them.
Children are given opportunities for leadership in every year group, through School Council, Digital Leaders and the Collective Worship group. In Year 6, children are offered the chance to take on extra leadership roles in school. This includes being Playground Leaders, supporting children on the playground; Acorn Buddies, supporting our Reception children as they start school; as well as the roles below.
We are very proud of the work of our Student Leaders, letting their own lights shine while encouraging other people to do the same.
Head Boys and Girls
We have a team of 4 Head Boys and Girls, who serve as representatives of our school community. Their roles include taking on leadership of Celebration Assembly, presenting certificates to children who have particularly shown our Christian Values in action; welcoming important visitors to our school; helping to show visitors round our school; helping at parents' evenings; and working alongside the School Council on fundraising. They are role models to the school community and ambassadors for our school community. They meet termly with the Head of School and contribute to the school newsletter.
These roles are appointed by the Head of School. Children who would like to put themselves forward write a letter of application and are interviewed by the Head of School.

House Captains
In Year 6, 2 children from each house take on the roles of House Captain and Vice House Captain. These are elected roles. Children who would like to put themselves forward prepare and give a speech to the members of their house, and are democratically voted in.
The House Captain teams collect house points each week, take responsibility for the house points board in the hall, present house point certificates in celebration assembly, help to organise house events through the year and lead their house on Sports Day.
